Area chefs representing ACF Chefs of Northwest Indiana and local restaurants, as well as culinary chefs and students from Ivy Tech, prepared a delectable 7-course meal at the Avalon Manor. Chefs donated their time, meal ingredients and expertise to benefit on Meals on Wheels!

MEALS ON WHEELS OPEN HOUSE - OCTOBER 19, 2006 More than 200 members of the community came to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting and Open House for Meals on Wheels! Day and evening festivities included tours and refreshments. During the Merrillville Chamber event, area chefs and culinary students from Ivy Tech donated their time and expertise to prepare some tasty treats for our guests! TIMES MILLIONAIRE AUCTION - OCTOBER 7, 2006 Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana wishes to thank the Times and community for helping us win a new Nissan truck, compliments of Southlake Auto Mall. During the Times Millionaire promotion, more than 500 individual donors and many civic organizations and churches enabled us to collect $47,233,990,000 in Millionaire Bucks! This year, we saw many other worthwhile charities vying for a vehicle during the auction, and we feel very blessed that Meals on Wheels was among them to win a top prize. It truly was only possible because of each and every donation we received, and the many wonderful volunteers who came into our office to help clip, count and organize the bucks. THANK YOU TO ALL!
