Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana has an annual operating budget of $1.8 million in order to prepare over 300,000 meals annually! Community donations from individuals, foundations, churches, civic groups, businesses and clients are extremely important for the success of our program to feed the homebound of Northwest Indiana. Contributions are more important than ever! Endowment Fund Our Endowment Fund is an important part of the overall financial picture of Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana. The Endowment Fund was established to ensure that meals and services will be available for future generations. Contributions to this fund are professionally managed and invested by the Legacy Foundation to maximize the interest income. A portion of the interest is available annually to Meals on Wheels to benefit the operations of our program, while the capital is always held by the Legacy Foundation. Gifts to the Endowment Fund truly are the gifts that keep on giving, year after year.
