Sandra serves as Executive Director of the Agency and has seen many changes in the local Meals on Wheels program since her arrival in 1986. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Calumet College and a Master’s Certificate in Non Profit Management from Indiana University Northwest. Sandra is certified as a Nutrition Program Administrator, a member of the Nutrition Fellows Leadership Institute, and an alumnus of Leadership Northwest Indiana.

During her tenure at Meals on Wheels, Sandra has attained membership to many organizations.

Sandra serves on the National Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels Association of America. This experience gives her the opportunity to learn, advocate, share information and incorporate best practices on the issue of Senior Hunger. In addition, she is a voice for our community on the National Levels as she brings local issues to the Association who can help us solve an issue as complex as Senior Hunger.

Sandra loves to run, sail with her husband, and spend time with her three, grown children, and grandchildren.

Joan Vith

Joan began as an office volunteer in July of 2011 assisting the Volunteer Manager with scheduling volunteers for route deliveries. In January of 2013, Joan was hired as the Volunteer Manager. She brings her knowledge of over 14 years in Human Resources to her position. She enjoys working with the over 850 volunteers we have every month while scheduling the delivery routes, office helpers, and kitchen help.

While working full time, Joan returned to school and earned her Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Management from Calumet College in 2007. She graduated with honors.

 


Amanda Maynard

Amanda Maynard joined Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana as Director of Development in September of 2013. Amanda has worked in the nonprofit sector for over eight years & has served in many capacities. As Director of Development, Amanda will provide the vision and direction for a comprehensive fundraising program that will provide financial sustainability of the mission of Meals on Wheels.

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University & her Master of Science degree from Purdue University Calumet.

Amanda is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and serves on the board of directors for the local AFP chapter. Amanda is also a member of the Valparaiso Rotary Club.

Jodi joined Meals on Wheels in October of 2013. Jodi brings a diverse background from the profit world where she served in several capacities within the marketing field. Jodi uses her knowledge to extend the awareness of our Meals on Wheels program and our many services that we can offer in our community. She coordinates our social media and our communication.

Jodi is a graduate of Ohio University and enjoys photography and gardening.

 


Kristine Woodke

Kristine worked her way through the ranks of the Food Service Department for eight years before taking the helm as Director of Food Service in October of 2010.

Kristine’s complete knowledge of the day to day activities and tasks are necessary to ensure that more than 1,700 meals are prepared and make their way to our clients’ homes.

Kristine is a member of Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) and has completed her MOWAA certification in the area of Nutrition. She is also a member of the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Northwest Indiana. Kristine is holds her ServeSafe Certification which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute for Food Protection.

 


Glen Jacobsen

In his role with Meals on Wheels, Glenn directs the fiscal functions of the agency, including accounting practices, budgeting and financial planning. He also directs the administrative functions including human resources, information systems office management and the client services department.

Prior to joining Meals on Wheels, Glenn held various challenging and rewarding business and accounting positions, including 20 years as a skilled Controller/CFO for a local independent supermarket chain.

Glenn is a native Hoosier, a US Army veteran, husband, father and grandfather who enjoys music, traveling and spending time with his family. Glenn holds a BS degree in accounting from Indiana University.

Susan started with Meals on Wheels in 1987. Susan has a strong sense of commitment to our clients and their families. She is also the Office Manager, working with the Meals on Wheels team to fulfill the mission of Meals on Wheels.

 


Wyatta Bedford

Wyatta is responsible for our federal funding billing. She coordinates the various sources of funding to ensure that criteria are met and clients that are eligible continue to receive meals. She communicates regularly with case managers and completes the needed information with the almost daily deadlines.

Wyatta also assists with client calls from new clients requesting our services. Her vast knowledge of our program and professional demeanor allow her to answer all questions that a client might have.

Wyatta has been with Meals on Wheels for 6 years. Wyatta graduated from West Side High School and attended Central Missouri State University where she studied business administration.

Gayle is responsible for new client intake and a community liaison with us. Gayle uses her background as a nurse to walk clients through signing up for meal delivery and ensuring that they are receiving the proper diet selection.
